As first reported by USA Today, former OU quarterback Trevor Knight will be transferring to Texas A&M!
According to College Spun, and other sources, Jake Spavital and Texas A&M have agreed to part ways.
I was excited about this year’s college football playoffs because of the tremendous success of the 2015 College Football Playoff. Ohio St stunned everyone by beating Alabama in the semi-final game in the Sugar Bowl. Oregon defeated the defending national champs from 2013, Florida State in the Rose Bowl. Ohio State then played Oregon in the National Championship game and OSU won 42-20, claiming the first ever CFP National Championship.
This year, I hoped for more of the same excitement as the playoffs drew near. When I saw the match-ups (OU vs. Clemson, MSU vs. Alabama) I was ready for another fantastic finish of the college football season.
What I saw were blowout games which became un-watchable.
I’m not surprised one bit that viewership was down significantly. The New York Times reports that the Clemson- OU game had 15.6 million viewers, a 45% decrease from last year’s semi-final game at the Rose Bowl, which had 28 million viewers. The Alabama- Michigan State game was another boring game as Alabama creamed the Spartans 38-0. Viewership was down for that game 34% compared to last year’s Sugar Bowl semi- final according to the Times.
Even the non playoff games that were shown on New Years Day such as Stanford-Iowa, Oklahoma State-Ole Miss games were boring to watch after awhile. Blowout games are not viewer friendly, as much as ESPN wants to try and convince us otherwise.
I know the CFP Committee tries their best to pick the best match-ups, but I really think they need to re-think their strategy on how they pick the teams that participate. Otherwise, they are going to keep losing viewers like me who live, eat and sleep college football.

So Cool of Texas State!

When former Texas State football player, Brian Guendling posted a video back in July of him doing sign language to Bruno Mars Uptown Funk, the response from the Deaf community was overwhelming and inspired him to create a way for deaf people to meet their peers.
Guendling is not Deaf but has always had a special connection with the deaf after taking speech classes and being around a lot of Deaf people. Guendling came up with the idea of a Deaf section after Deaf individuals asked him about coming to a game. When asked, Guendling thought that instead of having them all spaced around, they should all enjoy the game together, feel welcomed, and have a great time.
After posing this idea to the ticket office, 4 days later the Deaf section was approved. Once the news got out, Guendling says that the excitement doesn’t…

Texas A&M beat Arizona St. to open up the 2015 College football season with a 38-17 victory. A&M was firing on all cylinders on defense and special teams. The offense was very good too with Kyle Allen and true freshman Kyler Murray sharing snaps. Here are the highlights from the great win in Houston! I really had fun watching it in person!
