In front of the second largest crowd ever at Bobcat Ballpark (Tied with 2010 vs A&M), the 10th ranked Texas Longhorns defeated Texas State 6‒3.

Bobcat starting pitcher Dylan Bein came into the game with a 1.80 ERA, but that did not hold up for very long as Longhorn outfielder Ben Johnson crushed Bein’s second pitch to left center field to give the Longhorns an early 1‒0 lead in the top of the first. Bein’s struggles continued as he hit Longhorn Collin Shaw, who was awarded first base and then Longhorn outfielder Ben Johnson struck again with a single to center field, but advanced to second after a error by Texas State center fielder Matt Sanchez which gave the Longhorns a 2‒0 lead in the second inning.
